| Biographie:
Geoff and Kevin used to play in a band called One Can Only Hope. Due to some personal conflictions between the band, they broke up in October of 2000. Soon afterwards, they wanted to form a new band with a more melodic feel but still having a hardcore edge. Then they had recruited Dustin who played drums in a punk band called Happenstance. Hence, the beginnning of Saving Throw. Then in mid' November we recorded a three song demo. It wasn't a bad first effort. For a while after we just played shows in the Syracuse/Fulton. In January of 2001, we were looking for a second guitar player. At the time, Kevin had sang played in a short lived punk band called Fallen Short of a Promise. Kevin had asked the guitar player, Ian, to play for us. We continued to play shows in the Syracuse area for the next couple of months. Then in May, we went to go record our 7 seven song CD and at that time, our current bass player Dave "the fuck hole" Feola left the band. Any one that can get us his email address gets a free cd. This left us in a sticket of a quandary. But luckily enough, a good friend of ours, Jon Linnebury of Just Passed fame had filled in on bass duties for the next few months. One of these shows he had filled in for was Hellfest 2001.
Then in June, we had gotten in contact with Mark from Caught in the Rain Records. I sent him a copy of the 7 song CD that we recently recorded. He offered to put out the CD. In August of 2001 we finally found a bass player by the name of Eric. He had previously played in a band called the Hepaphrentics. Also by this time, Josh Lyons (Blatherskyte Records) had gotten a hold of us. We signed a deal where we would put out an EP and a full length record. Then in December of 2001, Dustin's grandmother (the person he was living with) had passed away. Dustin would then go on to live with his mother in North Carolina.
Soon after Dustin's grandmother passing away, we were scheduled to record our EP for Blatherskyte Records. But luckily enough, a good friend of ours, John Marino of Just Passed fame, offered to play drums on the EP. The EP was recorded in the beginning of January at Watchman Studios (once again). But after the recording we needed to find a permanet drummer. Then at the beginning of February of 2002, we picked up Bryan for drumming duties. He had played drums for American Hot Wax (they are currently on hiatus).
| Editor Notes:
