OK, this is Christian from Coreground, an online HC/Emo Fanzine from Germany! I just have to ask some silly question, just drop me a line to everything.. :) Ok, here we go: Brian: This is Brian from The Cable Car Theory CG: THE CABLE CAR THEORIE was formed in 1997. Were there any Line Up changes since then? Brian: Yes, we are on our 3rd drummer - everyone else is solid. CG: You grew up with the "typical" NYC an DC Hardcore sound of that time, but when I was listening to your new record "The Deconstruction" for the first time, I was just wondering that there are a lot of softer influences in this record... Brian: We just write what we are feeling at the time. We are influenced by a lot of different music styles. ![]() CG: The reactions and reviews for this record were quite good. Did you expect this? Brian: We were hoping for a good reaction, because we spent a lot of time and money writing and recording this. CG: What are your musical "roots"? Are there any bands you would say that they affect you? Brian: There are hundreds of bands that affect us, our "roots " are all different but we found a common ground in bands like Phallacy, Black flag, Minor Threat ect. CG: Do you want to send a message by your music or is it only a form of entertainment for you? Brian: Both, we have a message but we don’t like to push it in people faces and at the same time its an outlet. ![]() CG: Are there any "super-bands" you would like to play with? Brian: The Who, Pearl Jam, Fugazi...We might be playing with Vanilla Ice "Ice Ice Baby" - not that he is a super group, but it will be funny as hell!! CG: Just drop us the names of the five most important records ever and of your current playlist. Brian: ever: Minor Threat, Phallacy - 7inch and CD, Dag Nasty - Can I Say, Slayer - Regin In Blood, all the beatles stuff current: I am a big posser, Deftones - White Pony, Bjork - Vespertine, The Who - Greatest Hits, TENACIOUS D... CG: Will you hit the road in Germany in the next months? Any other projects planed yet? Brian: We hope to tour the U.S.... Then come over to Europe, hopefully this will happen soon!! CG: Is there anything you would like to say to your german fans and groupies? Brian: I miss you and love you all! Thank you and rock n roll!!! CG: OK, thanks for your patience and good luck for the next months! MP3s zum Download: Nakama Tears For Broken Toys Something New Mehr über The Cable Car Theory im CORE Ground HC Zine |
